The ceremony went down on Thursday evening in Los Angeles, just a few days ahead of the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. Missy—along with Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre, and music executive Sylvia Rhone—were all honored, and Chloe took to the stage to honor Elliott.
The “Have Mercy” singer specifically offered a harmonious rendition of “One in a Million” by Aaliyah, a song that was penned by Missy.

Chloe Reflects On Missy Elliott In Instagram Post: ‘She Inspires Me’
A day after her performance, Chloe took to Instagram to acknowledge the experience with an upload.
The 24-year-old acknowledged that “being able to honor Missy Elliott last night meant everything to [her].” She also noted that Missy is a “trailblazer” who inspired her as both an artist and producer. Notably, she referred to Missy Elliott as a “genius” and hoped that she could “make the same impact on the music industry as she has done.”
