Here’s What Happened At The Indiana Applebee’s
USA Today didn’t reveal the 28-year-old’s name but reported that local prosecutors charged her with disorderly conduct. Officers from the Portage Police Department arrived at the Applebee’s sometime after receiving a dispatch call at 8:39 p.m. for a “verbal disturbance.”
An arrest report stated that the dispatcher warned of “multiple females screaming” at the scene. When officers arrived, the woman who had been in a screaming match with the Applebee’s manager was outside.
The verbal altercation began when the woman and her dining group misunderstood the rules of the ‘All You Can Eat’ deal. The $15.99 offer includes endless boneless wings, riblets, double-crunch shrimp, and fries.
Apparently, per the arrest report, the group believed the deal was good for an entire table, but the manager informed them it was a “per person” special. That’s when the manager became “very unprofessional,” per the group’s statement to officers. In exchange, the group argued that the menu didn’t clarify whether the deal was per person. However, an officer later showed the group a menu depicting the promotion’s limitations.
Woman Arrested After Reigniting Argument With Couple
The 28-year-old ultimately ended up in jail after the responding officer warned her about disorderly conduct. As the officer showed the woman and her group the menu that had the “per person” policy, the woman gestured toward a couple leaving the restaurant. The woman admitted to getting into it with the couple earlier, and the dispute picked back up!
Another person in the group tried to quiet the riled-up 28-year-old, even placing their hand over her mouth. After nothing worked, the responding officers cuffed her and booked her into Porter County Jail.
Eventually, one person paid the Indiana Applebee’s bill on-site, paying the $15.99 per person in their group.
