Central Cee has sparked a heated debate after claiming he influenced not just the UK, but also the U.S. when it came to rocking Nike techs. In a now-viral clip, the ‘Band4Band’ rapper stated, “I’m humble, innit, but at the same time, I like to think that man put a lot of man on to the Nike tech thing.” He added, “You see the influence—like even in America, people be rocking the techs like they’re us.”

Before Central Cee could even finish his statement, people on the internet were quick to shut down his claims. While many argued that the Nike tech trend started in New York, others claimed that Nike Techs were already a staple in hip-hop culture before Central Cee rose to fame.
