Acccording to USA Today, Trump’s speech defended his efforts to put “America first,” and clocked in a just around an hour and 39 minutes. Representative Jasmine Crockett made it clear Donald Trump’s address to Congress was on her radar. On Tuesday, March 4, she took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to inform the public of the upcoming event. However, while doing so, she urged the public “not to watch,” and she did so in a Kendrick Lamar-inspired fashion.

Texas Rep. Al Green Is Removed From Trump's Address
According to USA Today, Texas Rep. Al Green turned heads during Trump’s address by reportedly interrupting the president before he started his speech. Afterward, the entire congress was demanded to mantain decorum amid Trump’s words. Subsequently, Rep. Green was directed to take his seat as the event continued. However, he seemingly refused and was escorted out of the event.

While speaking with reporters after being removed, Rep. Green explained that he was trying to tell Trump that he has “no mandate to cut Medicaid.”
“I’m also working on my articles of impeachment,” Green reportedly added.

More On What Trump Said During His Address To Congress
According to NPR, Trump’s speech largely focused on highlighting and championing the demands of his fellow Republicans. His speech touched on anti-trans efforts in school systems, targeting of pro-diversity programs, and efforts to boast America’s patriotism to the world — such as his plans to rename the Panama Canal.
Per the outlet, Trump briefly addressed inflation while touching his ongoing plans to enact tariffs on various foreign countries. However, instead of indepthly laying out his plans for inflation, NPR reports that the president appeared the blame the economy’s current state on former president Joe Biden. He reportedly mentioned Biden 13 times in his speech.
“Joe Biden especially let the price of eggs get out of control,” Trump reportedly said. “The egg prices, out of control. And we’re working hard to get it back down.”

As his speech continued, Trump reportedly praised Elon Musk and DOGE. Per NPR, he asserted that DOGE uncovered “hundreds of billions” in government fraud. However, the outlet reports that the numbers just “don’t appear to add up.” Per the outlet, Trump appeared to make less than true claims about fraudulent social security payments, the revenue garnered from his recent tariffs, and the country’s spending on the war in Ukraine.
