Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing serious time behind bars—but he’s not going down without a fight. The hip-hop mogul, who’s been charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution engagement, has one of the most stacked legal teams ever seen. With over 150 years of combined legal experience, here’s a breakdown of the high-powered attorneys defending Diddy in court:

Leading Diddy’s Team: Marc Agnifilo
Leading the team is Marc Agnifilo, a veteran defense attorney known for representing controversial figures like NXIVM cult leader Keith Raniere, “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli, and Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng. Agnifilo’s been in the game for over 30 years. He tried more than 200 cases before joining Diddy’s legal team. And fun fact: his wife, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, is also a lawyer who is currently representing Luigi Mangione, who is facing charges for fatally shooting a UnitedHealthcare CEO.

Meet Teny Geragos
Teny Geragos, a founding partner at New York-based law firm Agnifilo Intrater, previously defended Keith Raniere and Martin Shkreli. Geragos graduated from Loyola Law School in 2016. She’s also the daughter of well-known defense attorney Mark Geragos, whose past clients include Hunter Biden, Chris Brown, and Michael Jackson. Her father is also currently involved in the push to free Erik and Lyle Menendez.
Teny also brought Diddy’s case to TikTok, debunking claims from a civil lawsuit against him—complete with headline screenshots, legal documents, and images displayed behind her.

Alexandra Shapiro
With over 30 years in appellate law, Alexandra’s resume is stacked. She’s repping Sam Bankman-Fried in his pending appeal, who is currently serving time at the same Brooklyn jail as Combs. Like Combs’ judge, she clerked for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and has argued cases before the Supreme Court.
Brian Steel
Brian Steel is no stranger to high-stakes drama. He went viral representing Young Thug during his YSL RICO case, which is also Georgia’s longest criminal trial. And, Steel made headlines after he was briefly jailed during the trial for being held in contempt. During this incident, he refused to reveal how he learned about a private meeting involving prosecutors, a witness, and the judge. That contempt ruling was later overturned.
Furthermore, Steel had requested permission to practice law in New York so he could join Diddy’s criminal defense team. Steel earned his undergrad degree from the University of Michigan before graduating from Fordham Law in 1990 with his Juris Doctor. Following Thug’s plea deal and release, Steel even got a Drake song named after him.
Xavier Donaldson
Donaldson, a former Bronx prosecutor with nearly 30 years of defense experience, joined just as the trial was heating up. According to his LinkedIn, Donaldson is a former assistant district attorney for the Bronx County DA’s office. He’s a well-respected figure in New York’s legal scene and brings both grit and experience to Diddy’s trial.
Linda Moreno
Linda Moreno was brought on to Diddy’s legal team to help with jury selection, and her résumé is wild. She’s represented clients accused under the Patriot Act and helped Wesley Snipes beat felony tax charges. If anyone knows how to read a jury, it’s her.
