According to new court documents obtained by journalist Meghann Cuniff, the California Court of Appeals has officially denied Tory Lanez’s request to overturn his felony convictions and 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
“On appeal, Peterson contends the trial court committed a number of errors. We find no prejudicial error and, accordingly, affirm Peterson’s conviction,” reveals court documents.
In the appeal, Lanez’s legal team argued that he was unfairly convicted and sought a new trial, but the judges didn’t see it that way. After reviewing his claims, the court decided to uphold the original ruling, meaning Tory will continue serving the 10-year sentence he received back in August 2023. This decision adds yet another twist to the long-running case that’s divided fans and dominated headlines.
