Teyana Taylor Breaks Necks In Sculpted Look
Teyana Taylor brought the girls and the parents out for a full-on fashion takeover at the 2026 Billboard Women In Music Awards on April 29, turning the night into a whole family slay session. The multi-hyphenate stepped onto the carpet in a head-turning ivory corseted bodice wrapped in twisted, hair-like detailing that gave avant-garde sculpture energy, before flowing into a sheer white skirt with blonde strands peeking through the train for that extra “don’t look away” vibe. Not to mention, she completed the ensemble with white lace-up platform heels and wore her hair in long, mermaid-style waves that matched the ethereal mood.
A Family Fit Check? Absolutely, Yes
Teyana’s mother, Nikki Taylor, complemented the moment in a sleek black form-fitting gown paired with gold jewelry. While her father, Tito Smith, kept things classic in a black suit. The trio posed closely on the red carpet, serving both elegance and family unity in one stunning fashion statement.

Continuously, Teyana had a full-circle moment with her mom as the two shared a sweet red carpet exchange, with cameras zooming in. In a cute clip from the awards, you can see Teyana gently fixing and smoothing out her mother’s gown while Nikki posed for photos, making sure everything sat just right before the flashes kept going. The moment instantly gave fans déjà vu, recalling how Teyana’s daughter, Rue Rose, previously stole hearts back in March at the 2026 Actor Awards when she helped adjust her mom’s outfit on the carpet. All we know is that sweet, supportive energy clearly runs deep in this family line.
Teyana Taylor’s Moment Hit Awkward Tech Glitch
Now, when it comes to award shows, there’s always an expectation that something will go slightly off-script. And, the last night’s awards delivered that moment in real time when Teyana was honored with the Visionary Award. Introduced by legendary singer Dionne Warwick, things quickly took an awkward turn when the teleprompter failed to load her speech, prompting Teyana to repeatedly ask, “Can I get the teleprompter?” before the screen eventually displayed, “Teyana Taylor, we have no script for you. Everyone exit stage right,” which she read aloud in real time.
After noting earlier mic and in-ear issues, she joked through the chaos before briefly stepping offstage alongside Warwick and her son. Meanwhile, host Keke Palmer later addressed the technical mishap and brought the moment back on track, ultimately allowing Teyana to return and properly accept her honor in a reset speech that turned an awkward glitch into one of the night’s most talked-about moments.
