Spike Lee Held Back Amid Spicy Exchange With Fan
Spike Lee was not having it after a fan interrupted his dinner at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday ahead of the American League Division Series Game playoffs. The New York Yankees were playing against the Boston Red Sox, and Lee was having dinner beforehand when a fan reportedly approached his table and spouted profanity, per The New York Post.
The 69-year-old director is a well-known New York Yankees fan, and he has also spoken out in support of the situation happening in Palestine, per Don Lemon. Lee is wearing a red New York Yankees hat in a video of the incident. Andy Slater from FOX Sports shared the clip on X with the caption:

“JUST NOW: Spike Lee has to be held back from going after a fan while dining pregame at Yankee Stadium. The fan was filming Spike eating and asked him how he felt about Palestine, according to people closer to them at the table.”
The wayward fan reportedly provoked the ‘Do the Right Thing’ director when he said: “F*ck Palestine.” Lee then jumped up from his seat and was held back as he exclaimed, “Why’d you come over to me?” The fan was later asked to leave the venue.

Lee also noted the win in a cheeky clip shared by ABC7NY. “Fifty-three years,” said Lee. “Fifty-three years!”
