Dana Tran Spills Tea On What Baby Love Is REALLY Like
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly published on October 15, Dana Tran shared a glimpse into her daughter’s personality, describing her as an “old soul.” She even shared that Love’s teachers have praised her for her maturity, since she’s always quick to comfort her classmates.
Even in school, they say she’s very empathetic. She’s the first person to console a kid if they’re crying. The teacher always tells me she’s just very shocked at her mature nature. I think it’s because she’s hanging out with me and her siblings who are all adults.”
Tran Speaks On Diddy’s Bond With Baby Love
Although Diddy is currently incarcerated, Dana Tran says he and Baby Love still maintain a relationship despite the limited communication. “She knows exactly who her dad is [and] recognizes his songs. She obviously doesn’t know anything going on,” Tran told Us Weekly. Tran also acknowledged that staying connected isn’t always easy, explaining, “You don’t get calls every day. You can’t. There’s no way. There’s no access. So we take what we can get, and he tries.” While looking ahead, Tran opened up about her hopes for Diddy to build a relationship with Love once he’s released from prison. “I feel like any sane mother would want a father in the lives of their children,” she said. Tran added, “I feel like every child deserves to get to know their father.”

Wait, Baby Love Almost Had THIS Name?
Chile, Baby Love almost had a whole different name! Dana Tran revealed that Love’s name wasn’t even in the running throughout her pregnancy. “Her name was actually never Love. My entire pregnancy, she had a different name,” Tran shared. However, after seeing their daughter’s face, she and Diddy had a change of heart. “When we saw her face, her original name, we’re like, ‘No, that doesn’t fit her.’ And we prayed on it, we meditated on it, and then we came to Love a few days later,” she explained. Tran said her daughter is proud of her name, adding, “And honestly, she truly lives up to her name. She just exudes love and light.” But that’s not all! Tran also revealed that she almost named her daughter Ocean because of her deep connection to the water during pregnancy. “I swam in the ocean every day when I was pregnant,” she shared, adding that her doctor eventually told her to stop because she was concerned Tran might give birth in the ocean! Now, Love has developed her own love for the water and swimming with fish. And, for her fourth birthday, Tran took her to Mexico.

Tran Reveals How Baby Love Might React To Headlines About Her family
Dana Tran is also getting real about how motherhood has changed her perspective and taught her lessons she never expected. “[Motherhood] taught me I’m a lot stronger than I think I am, but also a lot softer in ways I’ve never expected myself to be … and I find strength in being soft,” she claimed. She added, “I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is that I have a lot more strength than I ever imagined, and being soft was never a weakness. It actually became a strength of mine.”
As for raising Love, Tran said she wants her daughter to remain curious and never lose her spark. “I want her to feel loved and very safe and celebrated as a kid,” she shared, while emphasizing the importance of education and discipline. Tran further acknowledged that Love may eventually come across headlines about her family, admitting, “I don’t have the answer for that today.” Still, she hopes to raise her daughter to be “strong, independent and very understanding of who she is as a person,” making it clear that Love’s well-being and sense of self will remain her priority.
