Ashanti & Nelly Turn Up The Ball With Spicy Performance

The couple and their guests traveled to Nelly’s hometown, St. Louis, for the charity event. This year, the proceeds for the lux get-together will reportedly benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Harris-Stowe State University scholarships.

Just last month, Ashanti and Nelly went viral for their joint performance at his 50th birthday celebration. Over the weekend, the couple popped out in their holiday best. The new mother looked stunning in a glimmering, full-length gown with long sleeves and a high neck. Meanwhile, Papa Nelly showed out in an all-black tux and thin-frame glasses.

At one point on the mic, Ashanti began singing her iconic song ‘Baby,’ but switched up the lyrics to say, “We made a baby, baby, baby, baby.” And Nelly joined in with the background vocals and ad-libs. They sang the lyrics over, even pressing their heads together at one point. They danced, laughed, and looked to be happily in love!

The moment had the ball AND comment sections on social media sounding off! On The Shade Room’s IG page, the clip got nearly 10,000 comments in under 24 hours.

Here’s Who Else Popped Out To Nelly’s Event

As usual, the rapper’s hometown event had some iconic hip-hop makers in the building, from Bow Wow to Jermaine Dupri and Ne-Yo. They all took the stage, but there were also celebrities in the audience, from hitmaking writer Bryan Michael-Cox to Metro Boomin. The producer is also an STL native.

Speaking of natives, at the annual ball, Nelly & The St. Lunatics received the Key to the City of St. Louis. “Yeah, that thing right, it heavy too,” were Nelly’s first words after gripping the trophy.
