When spinning the block goesright! Ashanti and Nelly have been out and about since welcoming their first child together, Kareem, in July. Most recently, Entertainment Tonight sat with the married couple to get the inside scoop on their love.
During the ET chat, Ashanti described their vibes as strong-headed and strong-willed. Afterward, she credited Nelly for teaching her important lessons.
“I don’t tell him all the time but I learned a lot about just being grateful and graceful and giving people grace, being open-minded and level-headed and not too emotional. I’m a little bit dramatic as he says,” Ashanti shared.
Nelly jumped in, saying the dramatic antics make her a “great actress.” As the clip continues, Ashanti gushed about how Nelly shows up for her as her BFF, soulmate, and more.
“I have my soulmate, like my person, my best friend, my protector. You know, it’s an amazing feeling. I think the universe doesn’t make mistakes,” Shanti added.
After leaning in for a kiss on the cheek, Nelly described Shanti as “a great person…great mother.” He shared that having someone like his wife is “IT,” especially the type who knows how to celebrate their significant other on occasions like birthdays. Watch the sweet interaction below.
Speaking of celebrating, it seems like that’s a skill they both share in their rekindled relationship. In mid-October, Nelly went all out for his lady’s 44th birthday, surprising her with a lavish party attended by her loved ones. It was beach-themed, and he even surprised her with a lil’ bling for the occasion.
That same month, the couple went viral after Nelly’s sweet reaction to Ashanti singing the national anthem before Game 4 of the World Series.
Most recently, she returned the birthday love by throwing her hubby a cowboy-themed 50th birthday bash. At the event, they surprised their loved ones with a special joint performance.
