BabyChiefDoIt has social media users debating after revealing he uses ChatGPT to help write some of his lyrics. The 17-year-old Chicago rapper opened up about it in a recent Power 105.1 interview, saying the AI tool has become part of his creative process after recently discovering it.
During his Power 105.1 interview, BabyChiefDoIt admitted he was surprised by how well ChatGPT could write. After testing the AI tool out for the first time, he said hes been using it to help with some of his lyrics.
BabyChief told the interviewer that he asked ChatGPT to write him a song, starting it off with four bars with AI completing the rest. He shared that while he didnt use the verses exactly as they were written, he said they gave him solid material to pull from.
At one point, the interviewer asked if ChatGPT should get writers credit for helping him write. BabyChiefDoIt contemplated before responding I wouldnt think so. His honesty quickly set off a wave of mixed reactions online.
Fans took to social media with divided opinions after the confession. While some saw it as smart, others questioned whether it takes away from the art of lyricism.
