#Roommates, if you’re getting sad because the previously reportedly final film in the “Bad Boys” franchise has just premiered—well, you’re in luck because according to reports Martin Lawrence and Will Smith are coming back for another round.
It’s been 17 years since we last saw Martin Lawrence and Will Smith step into the roles of their popular characters Marcus Barnett and Mike Lowry from the classic buddy comedy films in the “Bad Boys” franchise. The newly released third film in the franchise, “Bad Boys For Life,” has just hit theaters—but despite it supposedly being the last film in the “Bad Boys” arsenal, things have now changed.
@HollywoodReporter exclusively reveals that “Bad Boys 4” is already in development…and Martin and Will are both back on board! Not only are the two returning, but the film is expected to not have the same wait time between films. “Bad Boys For Life” has received great reviews from critics and audiences alike, so it’s not that surprising that a fourth movie has been given the greenlight.
One of the reasons it took almost 20 years for the third film to go into production, is because the project switched writers, directors and budgetary costs continued to climb. However, apparently everything came together perfectly in the end—so perfect that fans can get ready to ride with Martin and Will once again. Chris Bremner, who worked on “Bad Boys For Life,” is set to write the script for the upcoming fourth film.
The original “Bad Boys” was released in 1995 and became an instant hit with fans and critics, as it was released when both Martin Lawrence and Will Smith were starring on two of the top TV shows at the time—FOX’s “Martin” and NBC’s “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.” The sequel came in 2003 and was an even bigger financial success than the first film.
We can’t wait for this!
Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
