BET “College Hill” Reboot Reportedly Planning To Launch In 2021 At Jackson State University

Roommates, when it comes to reality TV shows, in the early 2000’s BET gave us some of the best shows. We had “Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is” and “College Hill.” That show gave prospective college students a glimpse of what happens at HBCUs and had enrollment skyrocketing! During the quarantine, BET played a marathon of some of the best seasons, including University of the Virgin Islands & Atlanta. Many flooded their social media accounts, asking them to bring the show back.

Well, Roomies, it looks like we are finally getting what we have been asking BET for years! According to The Jasmine Brand, their sources claim that the series will return in 2021. The show is set to take place at Jackson State University, in Jackson, MS. However, the show will be different from how we remembered it in 2004. The reboot is supposed to include celebrities who are pursuing higher education.

JSU seems like the perfect place to kick off the new season as NFL legend Deion Sanders was announced as JSU’s head coach of the Tigers football team in September. His son, Shedeur Sanders, announced in November that he would be joining his dad at the university after de-committing from Florida Atlantic University.

ESPN 300 reported, “He [Shedueur] made that decision official on Friday and is now the highest-ranked prospect Jackson State has ever had, and he’s the only ESPN 300 prospect to commit to the HBCU. Sanders is the No. 60-ranked recruit overall, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback from Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas.”

The Jasmine Brand’s source spoke about the show’s reboot, saying, The show was a huge success and BET wants to showcase what college life is like. There really isn’t anything like it on TV.”

This historic reality tv show aired until 2009. Some of the illustrious HBCUs that were featured on the show included; Southern University at Baton Rouge, Langston University,  Virginia State University, University of the Virgin Islands, Atlanta, and South Beach.

2021 is already sounding like it’s going to be lit!
