Beyonc and Jay-Zs peaceful getaway was reportedly interrupted by a shocking scene this week. You already know the famous couples name is often tied to sold-out shows, luxury living, and headline-making moments. But this time, their East Hampton estate found itself at the center of an unexpected situation. The incident brought attention to the property after Keith Jonathan Websterallegedly crashed through the gates.
According to reports, a 63-year-old Bronx man identified by police as Keith Jonathan Webster allegedly crashed through the wooden front gate of Beyonc and Jay-Zs East Hampton home on Wednesday afternoon. Police said a witness saw Webster driving at a high rate of speed up the driveway before he failed to stop. After allegedly damaging the gate, he was ultimately wrestled to the ground by security. Webster was later charged with felony criminal mischief in the second degree and misdemeanor criminal trespass in the third degree.
However, authorities noted that the investigation does not currently indicate he intentionally targeted Beyonc or Jay-Z. Furthermore, a judge has since issued a stay-away order barring Webster from contacting the couple. Following his arraignment, he reportedly appeared disoriented and was taken to a mental health facility for evaluation. The investigation remains ongoing.
According to the police report, Beyonc and Jay-Zs front gate sustained “significant front-end damage,” with the estimated cost of the damage totaling at least $1,500. A witness allegedly saw Webster driving at a high rate of speed up the driveway before crashing through the entrance. Authorities also said his vehicle was impounded as evidence. Additionally, he was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital after reporting an injury during processing before being released back into police custody.
Furthermore, Detective/Sergeant Jennifer Dunn reportedly said Webster appeared confused both at the scene and after his arrest. She added that he has no criminal history, made no threats, and never mentioned Beyonc or Jay-Z by name, and that no weapons or notes were found. Officials also revealed that Webster had stopped at another nearby home beforehand, asking for a woman who did not live there, with the homeowner reportedly telling police he seemed confused before driving away.
