After speculations of beef between Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears, the sisters confirmed things aren’t happy-go-lucky between with a series of online exchanges. Britney first threw a couple paragraphs her sister’s way following Jamie’s ‘Good Morning America’ interview earlier this week. Jamie spoke about her new memoir and gave insight about her relationship with Britney and the former conservatorship.
Jamie Promotes Memoir
“There was no like me overseeing funds or something like that and if that was it was a misunderstanding, but either way I took no steps to be a part of it,” Jamie told ABC News Juju Chung in footage released on Wednesday.
During the interview, Jamie declined to comment on Britney’s present mental health state. This came after Juju pointed out Jamie’s description of Britney’s behavior leading up to the conservatorship as “erratic,” “paranoid,” and “spiraling.”
“…I’m allowed to say how I felt in those [moments], because that matters. It matters that I was in pain,” Jamie said.
Britney Responds To Interview
Well, Britney wasn’t feeling her sister’s press stop stories and made that crystal. Britney took to social media to slam Jamie’s comments following the release of the exclusive interview.
“She was never around me much 15 years ago at that time… so why are they even talking about that unless she wants to sell a book at my expense ??? REALLY,” Britney wrote.
Britney also commented on feeling slighted by Jamie remixing her songs because Jamie “never had to work for anything.” She also didn’t hold back about her distaste for her entire family.
“My family ruined my dreams 100 billion percent and try to make me look like the crazy one while I have a 104 fever, not being able to move in my bed,” Britney wrote. “My family loves to pull me down and hurt me always so I am disgusted with them!!!!”
Jamie Lynn Claps Back
Following Britney’s slam, Jamie Lynn got a couple things off her chest via Instagram. She began by saying it’s “hard” to see her sister’s posts, but that she wishes Britney well. Then, she accused the pop sensation of saying one thing online and another in private.
“It’s become exhausting when conversations, and texts we have in private don’t match what you post on social media,” Jamie Lynn wrote.
Jamie mentioned understanding Britney’s reality and not wanting to diminish it, but also not wanting to diminish herself. Jamie Lynn then wrote, “the things being said are absolutely not the truth.”
The ‘Zoey 101’ star said she’s had to “rationalize” to her oldest daughter why their family keeps getting death threats. Jamie blamed the threats on Britney’s “vague and accusatory posts,” saying her older sister could “put an end to all of it.” However, Jamie said she’s realized that Britney won’t clear the air, therefore, she “might have to set the record straight” herself.
“That being said, I hate to burst my sister’s bubble, but my book is not about her. I can’t help that I was born a Spears too, and that some of my experiences involve my sister,” Jamie wrote. “I’ve worked hard since before I was even a teenager, and I’ve built my career in spite of just being someone’s little sister.”
She closed her note saying she doesn’t “want drama,”but that she’s speaking her truth to heal her traumas, close the chapter and move forward.
“…and I wish my sister could do the same. No what what comes, I will always love my big sister,and be here for her,” Jamie wrote. “It’s time to put an end to the unhealthy chaos that has controlled my life for so long.”
Britney Doesn’t Hold Back…Again
And if you thought Britney let Jamie Lynn have the last word, you thought wrong! The singer popped off once again via social media. This time it seems to be in response to additional details from Jamie Lynn’s book about Britney weilding a knife.
“Jamie Lynn…congrats babe! You’ve stopped to a whole new level of LOW…I’ve never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such,” Britney wrote.
She asked Jamie to end the “crazy lies for the Hollywood books.” She also alluded to Jamie being “scum,” saying only that type of person “would make up such things.”
“I’m actually very confused about you making that up because it’s honestly not like you at all,” Britney wrote. “Around the kids?? Jamie Lynn, seriously?? Come on!! Congrats on introducing your older sister to the concept of getting LOW….LOWER…LOWEST…because you win on that one, babe!!!!”
