Britney Spears isn’t letting up on Jamie Lynn Spears and her new book. As previously reported, Britney has been
firing verbal shots at her sister since the announcement of Jamie’s memoir ‘Things I Should Have Said.’ Earlier this week, Jamie called herself a “national best selling author” in
an Instagram post. Well it looks like Britney wasn’t feeling the title and didn’t hold back her thoughts.
“National best seller???? DUH the timing of your book was unbelievable Jamie Lynn, especially knowing the whole world had no clue what was really done to me,” Britney wrote on Instagram. “My whole family including you is saying YOU DIDN’T KNOW. Bulls**t.”
Heated Exchanges & A Cease-And-Desist
The pop superstar has unleashed on her family since
the end of her 13-year conservatorship in November. Jamie’s book has especially influenced the rift. Britney and her attorney Matthew Rosengart reportedly sent Jamie a cease-and-desist letter one day before the release of the memoir.
“We write with some hesitation because the last thing Britney wants is to bring more attention to your ill-timed book and its misleading or outrageous claims about her,”
the letter said. “Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she.”
The letter demanded that Jamie cease and desist from referencing Britney “derogatorily” during the book’s promotional campaign. It also threatened legal action should Jamie continue telling “alleged vault stories.”
Jamie Celebrates Memoir, Britney Reacts
Jamie took to Instagram earlier this week to congratulate herself and thank supporters for the success of her book.
“I can’t believe I’m officially a NATIONAL BEST SELLING AUTHOR! I have no words except how grateful I am that I was able share my story with y’all,” Jamie wrote. “This has been one of the most challenging and vulnerable things I have ever done and I just honestly can’t thank y’all enough for the support and kindness.”
Britney posted two videos from the shows ‘The Real’ and ‘The Talk.’ Both clips show respective hosts Adrienne Bailon and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila speaking about Britney and Jamie. Adrienne from ‘The Real’ is heard saying, “if you wanted to clear your name who is it important to clear your name to.” Adrienne and Akbar both said Jamie should’ve addresse her issues with Britney privately.
“But what these women are saying here is pretty clear !!!! I’m just kinda shocked that more people like these real soul sisters aren’t telling it like it is,” Britney wrote. “Congrats best seller … I’m not surprised at all!!! The nerve of you to sell a book now and talk shit but your f***ing lying just like you lied about Alexa Nikolas!!!!”
Britney Backs Former ‘Zoey 101’ Co-Star Accusations
Britney also addressed a previous situation between Jamie and former ‘Zoey 101’ co-star Alexa Nikolas. Alexa has said Jamie bullied her with rumors about having a “mean and b****y” attitude and smelling “bad.” Jamie reportedly denied the bullying accusations in her book. She said Alexa’s accusations were for attention after her “fame had waned.” According to Britney, Alexa wasn’t lying.
“I wish you would take a lie detector test so all these masses of people see you’re lying through your teeth about me !!!! I wish the almighty, Lord would could come down and show this whole world that you’re lying and making money off of me,” Britney wrote. “You are scum, Jamie Lynn.”
Well, it’s not as bad as the slap Britney recently offered Jamie and their mother. However, it’s clear Britney’s strong feelings and outbursts might not be going anywhere, anytime soon.
