Caitlyn Jenner Debuts First Campaign Video In Her Run For California Governor

Roomies, looks like Caitlyn Jenner wasn’t playing internet games when she first expressed interest in running for California governor. The former Olympic decathlete debuted her first campaign video on Tuesday. In the three-minute advertisement, Caitlyn calls herself a “compassionate disrupter” who is tackling “elitist” career politicians.

“I came here with a dream 48 years ago, to be the greatest athlete in the world,” Caitlyn said in the campaign ad. “Now I enter a different kind of race, arguably my most important one yet: to save California.”

This is the Caitlyn’s first time entering the political scene to run for office. Recent reports showed that the reality television star filed the paperwork last month to run against Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom.

The advertisement first debuted on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America,’ according to ABC News. It was later posted in full to Caitlyn’s official Instagram account. Caitlyn’s video combined past and present clips of herself, of Californians, their landscapes and recent hurdles like raging forest fires and closed businesses.

“I want to carry the torch for the parents who had to balance work and their child’s education, for business owners who are forced to shut down, for pastors who are not able to be with their congregation, for the family who lost their home in a fire, for an entire generation of students who lost a year of education,” Caitlyn said in the ad.

The 71-year-old also said she’s “ready to be governor for all Californians.”

Just this weekend, Caitlyn found herself in media headlines for her commentary on trans girls playing in girls sports.

Theres a question of fairness,” Caitlyn said. “Thats why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls sports in school. It just isnt fair, and we have to protect girl sports in our schools.
