Awww! Roommates, congratulations are in order for DeVon Franklin and Maria Castillo they’re officially engaged!
PEOPLE reports that DeVon Franklin popped the big question while on vacation with Maria Castillo in Hawaii in December 2024. The outlet notes the preacher and motivational speaker asked for Castillo’s hand in marriage during a photo shoot outside The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua.
Franklin shared all the details with PEOPLE about the big moment, calling Maria his greatest blessing.
“Finding Maria has been one of Gods greatest blessings in my life, so I wanted the proposal to be as special as our love. We went to Maui for vacation, I told her we were gonna do a photo shoot, and during the photo shoot I surprised her with the proposal! It was truly a magical moment and I cant wait to spend a magical life with Maria! DeVon Franklin explained.
Meanwhile, Maria told the outlet she couldn’t believe it, and was very excited to enter this new chapter with DeVon.
“Im still in awe of how it all happened! It was such a beautiful surprise, and I cant even put into words how happy I am! To know Ill be spending the rest of my life with this incredible man is a dream come true. Heres to forever with the love of my life! Maria said.

DeVon Franklin and Maria Castillo locked in their engagement after a year of dating. The Shade Room first reported on dating rumors about them in September 2024 when social media users caught matching vacation pics on their Instagram accounts. By October 2024, they popped out together on the red carpet at The Pink Awards in Georgia.
As for DeVon, his last high-profile relationship was with Meagan Good they tied the knot in 2012 but he filed for divorce in 2021. Meagan’s moved on too; she’s now engaged to Johnathan Majors.
