Donald Trump is clapping back at Charlamagne Tha God after he shared some serious thoughts about the Jeffrey Epstein files. Charlamagne recently suggested conservatives might use the Epstein saga to shake up the Republican Party, and judging by his response, Trump was not having it.
Charlamagne stepped into the lions den when he appeared on Lara Trumps Fox News show, My View with Lara Trump, on Saturday, August 2. He didnt hold back, dropping some bold predictions about the Republican Partys future. Charlamagne suggested that the ongoing controversy around the Jeffrey Epstein files could be a game-changer for traditional conservatives looking to reclaim the GOP from the MAGA movement.
I think that traditional conservatives are going to take the Republican Party back, he told Lara, adding, I think this Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back, I really do.
Additionally, he even called the situation a political coup within the party, hinting that the Epstein files are keeping MAGA supporters fired up but could open the door for a shift. The ‘Breakfast Club’ host also shared his thoughts on what he thinks about Trump’s return as President so far, saying, I wouldnt give [him] a good rating, simply because the least of us are still being impacted the worst. Right now, people are hurting.
Trump didnt waste much time before letting Charlamagne have it. On Sunday, August 3, he reportedly took to Truth Social with a fiery response. He started by showing love to his daughter-in-laws show, calling Lara very wonderful and talented and her program a big ratings success. However, he then turned his attention to Charlamagne, labeling him a racist sleazebag and a Low IQ individual.
Trump didnt stop there, though, questioning why Charlamagne uses The God in his name, writing, Why is he allowed to use the word GOD when describing himself? Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname? He went on to claim Charlamagne has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth and knows nothing about Trumps accomplishments, like ending 5 Wars and creating the greatest economy. Additionally, Trump even took a jab at Charlamagnes political leanings, saying, This dope, Charlamagne, would vote for Sleepy Joe or Kamala?
The Jeffrey Epstein case has been a thorn in Trumps side, especially since he promised during the 2024 campaign to release files related to the disgraced financier, who died in prison in 2019. But since taking office, Trumps administration has hit the brakes, with the Justice Department stating theres no client list and no more documents to release. This U-turn has sparked outrage among the public, including MAGA supporters, who expected full transparency.
Some Republicans, like House Speaker Mike Johnson, have pushed back, calling the Epstein case not a hoax and demanding more answers, per CBS News. Charlamagnes comments tapped into this tension, suggesting the controversy could empower traditional conservatives to challenge the administration. Meanwhile, reports revealed Attorney General Pam Bondi briefed Trump in May 2025 that his name allegedly appears in the Epstein files, per CNN, though theres no evidence of wrongdoing. Not to mention, Trumps been dodging questions about Epstein, even snapping at reporters.
