#Roommates, back in December of 2020, Dr. Dre’s estranged 38-year-old daughter, LaTanya Young, made headlines when she revealed that she allegedly had not seen him in 18 years and had applied for work as a FedEx driver to make ends meet. Well, it appears that since then, things have gotten worse for LaTanya, as she now claims that she is homeless due to Dr. Dre allegedly not sending her any money in the last 18 months.
According to an exclusive with @DailyMail, LaTanya Young stated that she is currently living out of her car while her four children live with friends because she cannot afford housing in California. LaTanya said that despite her working as a delivery driver for both DoorDash and Uber Eats, while also working as an assembler at a warehouse—she is struggling financially because her father, Dr. Dre, has not given her money in almost two years. “My kids are staying with friends – they are not living in the car, it’s just me. I’m taking odd jobs just to make it now. I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse. I’m trying to keep my head above water. I’ve been in debt for a while,” she said.
Allegedly, LaTanya says that Dr. Dre has stopped supporting her financially because she did interviews about their estranged relationship. As a result, she has no direct contact with him and can only reach him through his team. “I’m homeless and I’ve been reaching out to my dad for help. His lawyer has said that my dad doesn’t want to help me because I’ve spoken about him in the press. I feel like I’m damned if I do, I’m damned if I don’t. I’m just trying to communicate with him and see if he wants to talk to his grandkids. My kids are old enough to know who he is. They are in shock that he doesn’t want anything to do with them,” LaTanya said.
Meanwhile, the car she has been living out of is a rental, and LaTanya is now afraid that she will lose the car because she can’t afford to make the payments. Explaining her fears, she said, “The car is a pretty penny. It’s an SUV that costs $2,300 for three weeks and I only paid for one week. Sooner or later they are going to take the car.”
Additionally, she admitted that she’s embarrassed when people realize that Dr. Dre is her father, but she’s working odd jobs to support herself. “It makes me want to crawl under a rock,” she stated. LaTanya also alleged that Dr. Dre committed to put her and her sisters through college and provide them with health insurance, but when he ended the relationship with her mother Lisa when she was five years old, none of those promises were fulfilled.
She ended things by mentioning Dre’s current messy divorce from soon-to-be ex-wife Nicole Young and applauded her efforts to get millions from him in spousal support. “I commend Nicole in a way, she did what she had to do,” LaTanya Young said.
