These notices reportedly offered them the choice to resign from their jobs with a full severance package. Or return to the office full-time and risk the chance of being let go. According to Burns-Tucker, the severance package offered to federal workers includes full pay and benefits for eight months. Additionally, employees who accept the offer will reportedly be exempt from returning to the office for the remainder of their employment. To note, the host reports that military personnel, U.S. postal workers, and those in immigration enforcement and national security positions are exempt from this offer.
In addition, federal employees have reportedly been given a tight deadline to make their decision: February 6.
