Florida Man Purchases 100 Generators From Costco To Send Over To The Bahamas

#Roommates, we are still devastated to see the damage that Hurricane Dorian has done to the Bahamas. Since the storm has affected the island, many people have been doing their part to help the island rebuild.

One Florida man is being recognized for purchasing 100 generators, as well as food to send over to the island to help with the rebuilding process.

According to CNN, the man’s receipt after making his purchase read  $49,285.70, with most of his purchases including 100 generators for $450 each. Aside from that he also purchased food to be sent over with the generators.

The man who made the large purchase wishes to stay anonymous because he doesn’t want the attention, and would rather have people focus on providing aid to the Bahamas. He said, “It’s important that we help each other out. It’s better than just sitting there. You see a need and you fill it.”

Although the man wished not to be recognized for his good deed, another shopper purchasing a generator overheard about his purchase while he was on his way out.

Alec Sprague, who posted a photo of the man from behind, said, “I had to go up there to him and say, ‘Thank you for doing this. I am so glad to see someone doing this.”

The man who made the large purchase is actually a farmer in Jacksonville, and plans on having the supplies driven to Stuart, FL where he has a storage facility set up so the items can be shipped to the Bahamas. There his friend, Errol Thurston, who also a local Bahamian will help with the distribution of the supplies.
