Former “The Chi” star JasonMitchell was arrested and released today in Mississippi on drug and gun charges.
The “Straight Outta Compton” star bonded out of the Harrison County jail earlier this evening, according to online inmate records.
Jason was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance as well as a glock 19 and a “mini draco,” according to records.
The details of the incident were not immediately available.
It looks like Jason is having a hard time getting back to work and in the public’s good graces.
We reported back in May of 2019 that Jason was booted from “The Chi” and dropped by his agency over misconduct allegations.
While the specifics of the incident remain unclear, it was revealed that it involved alleged sexual harassment of multiple women including his “The Chi” co-star Tiffany Boone. Jason has since denied those allegations, while Tiffany thanked fans for support though never went into detail about what happened.
His character on the show will reportedly be killed off in season 3, which is set to debut in July.
Since the fallout in the industry, Jason exclusively told us that he had plans to enroll in counseling and personal development classes following the allegations against him back in October.
