Details Regarding The Arrest & Charges Of The Georgia Mother

According to the outlet, Alondra Hobbs was arrested on Thursday. The woman faces charges of “felony murder” and “second-degree cruelty to children” in relation to her daughter’s death.

The outlet reports that authorities have not released information regarding the child’s manner of death.

However, according to Fox 5 Atlanta, the child has been identified as 7-year-old Alivia Hobbs-Jordan.

The DeKalb County Police Department also confirmed Hobb’s arrest and the child’s identity via Twitter.

The Discovery Of The Seven-Year-Old’s Body

An unnamed resident, who opted to remain anonymous, reportedly discovered the body of Alivia Hobbs-Jordan. He shared the details of the discovery exclusively with 11Alive.

According to the man, he was leaving a friend’s residence at the Hidden Valley Apartments and noticed that the front door to one of the units was “wide open.” As he walked closer to the unit, he said he noticed a “foul odor.”

As he entered the apartment, he observed that the “lights were off” and “no one was home.” Additionally, he noted that there was still furniture present in the apartment. However, it appeared that someone “left in a hurry.”

He then walked to the bedroom and noticed that the closet door was left open, showing a protruding figure. The man told the outlet that it was a “human arm.”

Furthermore, he observed that it appeared to be the body of a “young girl.”

“You could tell it was a young girl by what she had on and by her hair… She looked like a mummy.”

The man then made multiple attempts to contact 911, who he says did not believe his account of events. However, officers eventually responded to the incident around 9 p.m.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the apartment has “been vacant for many months.” However, neighbors have reportedly told police that squatters have frequently used it.

Additionally, neighbors recalled that a woman did inhabit the apartment. However, they don’t recall ever seeing a child with her.

“The child never went out of the apartment. Didn’t go to school. There was nobody to say, ‘Where was this kid?’ And that’s sad. It’s a sad statement about the world we live in.”

The investigation into Alivia Hobbs-Jordan’s death remains ongoing.
