Halle Bailey was officially honored by the City of Los Angeles for her advocacy work surrounding maternal health and for bravely opening up about her postpartum journey. The recognition came during Project Pit’s Maternal Health Summit, where Halle received her flowersliterally and figurativelyfor being a voice for so many women navigating motherhood in silence.

But it wasnt just about the applauseHalle’s presence at the summit carried weight. Shes been vocal about the highs and lows of postpartum life since becoming a new mom, and her vulnerability has helped spark much-needed conversations around Black maternal health, mental wellness, and community care. The City of LA made it clear: when it comes to advocacy, Halle is out here making an impact.

Halle also highlighted the ceremony with a sentimental post on Instagram. She captioned the photo dump:

“Hii everyone i just want to thank the City of Los Angeles and [Project Pit] for this incredible honor. To be recognized for speaking up about maternal health and my own postpartum journey is really humbling just a reminder that vulnerability is not a weakness, its the bridge that connects us all.”

Inside Halle’s Postpartum Mental Health Journey

As previously reported, Halle revealed she was battling postpartum depression after giving birth to her son, Halo, in 2023. Back in April 2024, the ‘Little Mermaid’ star took to Snapchat and got real about her struggles, saying she couldnt even be away from baby Halo for more than 30 minutes without spiraling. I dont know who I am, she admitted, sharing that she felt like a completely different prson after giving birth.
