Olivier Says He Can’t Afford Mounting Legal Fees
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Olivier claims his legal expenses have continued to pile up amid the custody battle and that he does not have the financial means to cover them himself. He reportedly told the court that his average monthly residual income is just $776.34. Olivier is reportedly requesting $176,522.58 to cover outstanding attorney fees, plus an additional $63,477.42 for anticipated future legal expenses related to the custody dispute.
Furthermore, his income and expense declaration reportedly lists monthly expenses of $17,555.99 and indicates that he has approximately $43,206.22 across various accounts. For now, it remains unclear whether the judge will approve Olivier’s request or require Halle to contribute toward his legal bills. The court has yet to make a decision on the matter.

Halle Berry And Olivier Martinez’s Recent Courtroom Twists
ICYMI, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge awarded Olivier Martinez primary custody temporarily of the pair’s son following a multi-day closed hearing. The judge also rejected Halle Berry’s request to reinstate their previous 50/50 custody arrangement and reportedly prohibiting her from having overnight visits with their son. However, Halle recently scored a legal win of her own after Judge Shelley L. Kaufman denied Olivier’s request to make a temporary domestic violence restraining order against her permanent and dissolved the order altogether on Thursday, October 29, per Us Weekly.
Halle’s attorney, Marina Beck, said they were “extremely pleased” with the decision, while an eyewitness described the actress as “ecstatic” outside the courthouse, where she was reportedly seen smiling and embracing her fiancé, Van Hunt. Still, a source clarified that the October 29 hearing was not a custody proceeding, meaning the temporary custody arrangements remain in place pending a future court hearing.
