Grab your tissues, Roommates! Eddie Murphy’s son and Martin Lawrence’s daughter are officially engaged! The legendary actors will now be a blended family as Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy have announced their intentions to marry.
Jasmin Lawrence and Eric Murphy dropped the big news on Saturday, Nov. 30, with a sweet joint Instagram post, but Jasmin revealed the proposal actually went down on Nov. 27. The couple shared a video of the magical moment set to Eric Bent’s ‘Spend My Life With You.’
In the footage, Jasmin and Eric enter a beautifully decorated venue with white-lit candles and rose bouquets everywhere. They walk down a rose-petal-lined path, stopping in front of a massive red heart. As the pair reaches the end of the path, Eric drops to one knee and pops the big question while Jasmin lights up with joy. Both Jasmin and Eric wore matching all-black outfits for the special occasion.
They captioned the post, “11.27.2024 Were engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldnt be more excited for this next chapter ”
Eddie Murphy hasn’t commented on the big news yet, but on Saturday, Martin Lawrence reposted their engagement video on his Instagram Story.
The Roommates went wild with reactions to Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence’s engagement in The Shade Room’s comment section. Social media users couldn’t be happier for the couple, with many saying their wedding is going to be lit.

PEOPLE reported that during a July interview with Gayle King on ‘CBS Mornings,’ Eddie Murphy opened up about Eric and Jasmin’s relationship. Entertainment Tonight highlighted that Eddie was excited when the couple first got together and expressed support. Eddie even shared his thoughts about their future, discussing the possibility of Eric and Jasmin getting married and having kids.
In 2022, Martin joked on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ about their child possibly being a “comedy super-baby” one day. He also shared that while he respects Eric and Jasmin’s relationship, he prefers staying out of their business but gladly tries to make Eddie foot the bill if and when they tie the knot.
