Jeannie Mai Fights Against Enforcing Prenup with Ex Jeezy

UPDATE: Jeannie Mai Reportedly Requests Judge Not To Enforce Prenup With Ex Jeezy

Jeannie Mai has reportedly asked a judge not to enforce her prenup with Jeezy in their ongoing divorce battle.

The TV personality claims she may have overlooked or misunderstood certain aspects of the agreement before signing it before their wedding in March 2021.

The prenup plays a significant part in the legal proceedings of their two-year marriage, as it will determine the division of assets and debts between the pair.

But in court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Mai contends that negotiations only occurred five days before they tied the knot.

She argues that she would’ve needed more time before signing the paperwork as she mentions several reasons to support her request to the judge.

Mai contended that the “compressed timeframe” subsequently left her and Jeezy with limited time to fully “engage in comprehensive due diligence.”

Mai also mentioned that the rapper allegedly failed to provide financial documents that thoroughly outlined his assets and liabilities.

The mother of one, who shares daughter, Monaco, with the ‘Hard’ artist, is now left in a state of concern about the “adequacy” of the examination process.

She mentioned that her team wanted enough time to thoroughly review the agreement if the judge did not deny Jeezy’s motion to enforce it.

Jeannie Previously Responded To Claims Of “Gatekeeping” Their Daughter

The custody war over their daughter, Monaco, has made the divorce process that much more difficult.

Court docs filed by the rapper in December accused his estranged wife of gatekeeping their child as he requested “clearly defined” legal and custody rights.

Mai responded to the allegation and took the opportunity to express her distress over Monaco’s safety, specifically regarding firearms.

Per TMZ, she expressed in her response filing that she had given Jeezy an “extended period of time” with their daughter. The two-year-old resides with her mom in Los Angeles.

But she did mention feeling uneasy about their daughter being in an environment where guns were present and accessible.

She stressed wanting to make sure that “trained caregivers” are present when Monaco spends time with her dad. Mai claimed there had been an incident in the past where firearms were left unsecured around the toddler.

“It is essential to clarify that Ms. Jenkins’ insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s well-being,” Mai’s court docs read.
