Joshua Jackson Reportedly Files Emergency Custody Order Modification Against Jodie Turner-Smith
On Monday, June 2, E! News published a report, asserting that on Friday, May 30, Jackson filed an emergency custody order modification against Turner-Smith. Per the outlet, in the motion, Jackson accuses Turner-Smith of enrolling their 5-year-old daughter, Juno, into a new school without his permission. Jackson reportedly stated that Juno was slated to begin attending the school for kindergarten classes this fall. Additionally, he noted that the new school is not within the 45-minute commute from his home, which he and Turner-Smith allegedly agreed upon.
“Respondent respectfully requests orders ensuring that the minor child continues attending her present school for the next academic year 2025-2026, and for the parents’ joint consent to be required for any subsequent school change,” the document reportedly asserts.
Furthermore, Jackson’s motion reportedly cited his and Turner-Smith’s disagreements as it pertained to their daughter’s education. Turner-Smith reportedly texted Jackson that she believed Juno’s academic experience didn’t “require a fixed” learning location. Additionally, Turner-Smith reportedly noted being open to using tutors and remote learning for Juno.

In addition, Jackson reportedly noted that Turner-Smith films a TV show in London. Furthermore, he believes that with her stance on their daughter’s education, she “is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school.”
“Even in the best case, it cannot begin to provide a child with the same nurturing and enrichment, peer relationships, and social skills that a classroom and school community environment provides,” Jackson reportedly stated, referring to tutoring and noting his own experience.
Ultimately, Jackson stated that Juno is “flourishing” in her current school environment. Additionally, he noted that she’s already had to endure changes in the “last few years,” which included his home burning down in the Los Angeles fires.
“…adding an unnecessary school change cannot be in her interests,” he reportedly stated.

According to the outlet, Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson reportedly finalized their divorce a few weeks ago. They initially agreed to maintain the “existing temporary joint legal and physical custody orders, awarding joint legal and physical custody to the parties with equal timeshares.”
E! News reports that Turner-Smith and Jackson are scheduled to return to mediation efforts “later this month.”
