K. Michelle recently shocked fans when she revealed she’s married, and now she’s keeping it real about how long it took her husband to finally put a ring on it. The singer said she blames herself for why it took so long for them to finally get married.
K. Michelle hopped on a livestream recently, and The Shade Room caught her spilling a little tea about her marriage. She didn’t share too much, but she did admit that it took her hubby basically 10 years to finally lock things down and marry her.
“People might want to crack on me and joke about that. But it took my husband… sh**, I ain’t even going to play with you like that. It took my husband a decade.”
K. continued to keep it real and said the delay was on her, since she wasn’t “perfect” and didn’t feel as though she was “marriage material.” She added,“Yeah, I’m more masculine. I think I’ve always been a lot for him. But I think I’m a lot for a lot of men.”
Folk in The Shade Room’s comment section had plenty to say about K. Michelle’s marriage journey. Some admitted they had no clue she was even wifed up, while others gave her props for keeping it real and holding herself accountable.

Earlier this month, K. Michelle shocked fans when she revealed she’s married. Back in July, she hopped on her Instagram Story with a long message where she talked about her upcoming album and then casually dropped that she’s a “new wife.” Later, she hopped on a livestream that 9MagTV shared on YouTube and spilled some more tea about being wifed up. She kept it cute, but shut down folks who were surprised by the life update, saying she’s making the change on her own terms.
If I decide to get up on a Monday morning and get married at the courthouse, thats what Im gon do. You better marry your best friend, marry somebody who got your back, but dont worry about mine. I do what I want to,” she said.
