Y’all, if youve ever sent your baby off to college, you know that emotional rollercoaster all too well. One celeb mom is feeling all the feels right now as she adjusts to a new chapterone that doesnt include hearing sneakers hit the floor or late-night fridge raids. And yes, were talking about the one and only, La La Anthony, and her son, Kiyan Anthony.
During a heartfelt sit-down with Angie Martinez, La La opened up about how tough its been watching Kiyan take that big step into adulthood as he starts college. Its been hard, she admitted, getting candid about the emotional transition, [The house] just got quiet.” As any parent knows, letting go is never easy, especially when its your only child heading out into the world for the first time.
Though La La has always been Kiyans biggest cheerleaderon and off the courtits clear this new chapter is hitting her in the feels. From high school basketball standout to college freshman, Kiyan is stepping into his own spotlight, and La La is cheering him on every step of the way, even if it’s from a distance now.
“For me, I’m in a very interesting season of my life. Kiyan has officially left for college and… it’s just something that I don’t think I heard enough people talk about. Or like, maybe I just wasn’t prepared for it. For some reason, I wasn’t privy to the conversation about when…your only child leaves for college and…that void,” La La can be heard telling Angie Martinez.
Fans wasted no time jumping into The Shade Room’s comment section to share their own experiencesand emotionsabout sending kids off. Some admitted they were crying even though their child was just at the other parents house for a week, while others agreed the transition is definitely an adjustment. Of course, in true TSR fashion, a few playfully suggested that La La just needs a new man to take her mind off the empty house!
