Earlier this week, Cassidy took to Instagram to share a carousel post. Furthermore, the first slide in the post featured a black-and-white photo of her and Payne. Meanwhile, the second slide featured a lengthy message.
“I don’t even know where to begin. My heart is shattered in ways I can’t put into words,” she wrote. “…You are — because I can’t say were — my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone you touched felt just as special as I did…”
As Cassidy’s message continued, she explained that she is “struggling” to adjust to the new reality of Payne not being here. As the message went on, Cassidy made a revelation about moments they shared in the weeks before his death.
“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our life together. I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. ‘Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444.’ Liam, I know we’ll be together forever but not in the way we planned. You’ll always be with me. I gained a new guardian angel…”
Before concluding, Cassidy explained that she will love Payne for the rest of her life and will carry their “dreams and memories” everywhere she goes.
