As The Shade Room previously reported, on Wednesday, September 11, a message was shared on Lil Tay’s Instagram Story, reading:
“Please pray for Tay. We will be updating you as more information becomes available.”
The message was also shared on the rapper’s X account, formerly known as Twitter.

Then, on Thursday, September 12, another message was shared alleging Tay was in the ICU unit at a hospital.
Ultimately, footage was posted to the rapper’s social media, alleging Tay had been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart tumor.

On Friday, September 13, Tay’s social media alleged the rapper was preparing to “major open-heart surgery to remove her heart tumor.”

Then, on Saturday, September 14, a video was shared on Tay’s X account reportedly showing the rapper recovering in a hospital bed.
“We are overjoyed to share that Tay’s open-heart surgery was a great success!” the caption of the video states. “We are deeply thankful to her surgeon, cardiologist and the team who are the best in the world! Thank you for the love, prayers, and positive energy you have all sent her way. Thank you for your continued support… We are off to a great start on the road to recovery.”
Lil Tay’s Social Media Addresses The Previous Death Hoax
A follow up message shared on Tay’s account addressed social media mention of the 2023 death hoax involving Tay. As The Shade Room previously reported, social media users initially appeared skeptical about the recent health updates regarding Tay due to the previous hoax.
