Issa Baewatch? Here’s Why Fans Think Ashanti And Nelly Spun The Block And Rekindled Their Romance (VIDEO)

Ashanti and Nelly have folks on social media (including celebrities) rooting for their reconciliation! This past weekend, the former couple sparked dating rumors with a series of outings and a spicy duet performance.

The Shade Room obtained photos of Nelly and Ashanti hand-in-hand at the Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight on April 22.

Ashanti stepped out rocking a mini, long-sleeved black dress, and Nelly wore a black-and-white patterned shirt with a thick diamond chain and black leather pants. TSR reviewed 14 photos of the singer and rapper, but hand-holding appeared to be the only form of intimacy.

Rumblings of a rekindled romance started when a video of them taking their seats at the Las Vegas outing went viral. In the video, the singer and rapper sat next to each other with a close view of the fight from the second row. On The Shade Room‘s Instagram alone, the clip received over 10,000 comments and more than 300,000 likes.

Ashanti & Nelly: A Rundown Of Their Recent Public Interactions And Comments

The photos have fueled the dating rumors while Nelly and Ashanti remain hush-hush on whether they’ve spun the block!

Fans of the former couple will recall their romance started in the early 2000s, at the height of their musical reigns. After about a decade together, Ashanti and Nelly ended their relationship, per VIBE. 

But fans have long rooted for a romantic reunion, especially after seeing Nelly’s enthusiasm toward Ashanti at Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz battle in 2021.

Video footage at the time showed Nelly getting a hug from the singer and kiki-ing with celebrity friends about their past relationship.

Following the public embrace and social media commentary about it, Nelly addressed the hug. He denied there was romantic intent behind it, but the following year their past again became a hot topic.

 “It wasn’t like that. I said, ‘what up’ to everyone, bro. You know we were there. I didn’t want any uncomfortable feelings or anything like that,” Nelly said.

In August 2022, Irv Gotti stirred up Nelly and Ashanti’s past when he claimed he found out about their relationship through the media.

Months later, in December, the pair left fans wondering after Ashanti gave Nelly a lil’ one-two grind during a performance of Body On Me. 

Days later, Ashanti appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and reacted to the internet’s comments about reconciliation.

“I mean, my reaction was ‘Wow.’ You know, it was a lot of comments and a lot of people wanting that. Um, what I will say is [that] we’re in a better place — cause before it was like — but you know, we’re cool now… We had some conversations, you know. So it’s cool.”

She didn’t confirm or deny whether she and Nelly were getting back together, but she admitted they’re cordial and cool.

So Did Ashanti & Nelly Spin The Block? Fans Seem To Think So!

Over the weekend, Ashanti gave fans round two of on-stage chemistry at Tao Beach in Las Vegas. It goes without mentioning that the moment added to the dating rumors.

As mentioned, Ashanti and Nelly are dragging their feet in adding any statements to the fire. Meanwhile, fans (and celebrities) are rooting for the artists to get back together.

Bow Wow stepped into The Shade Room over the weekend, adding his two cents under the video of Ashanti and Nelly taking their seats at the fight.

“Yo mo! I know we not seeing eye to eye either really but from lil bro to big bro STOP PLAYING AND MARRY THIS WOMAN BRO! You like 50. Sit yo old a** down [laughing emojis] this your queen,” Bow Wow wrote.

And the majority of Twitter reactions–like Mr. Shad Moss–seemed to be here for another round of Nelly and Ashanti magic!
