Allan Peters is now taking accountability for losing a major graphic design opportunity with A$AP Rocky. The incident happened just a few days ago and took the internet by storm, sparking debates about choosing business over clout.

Allan Peters Breaks His Silence On A$AP Rocky Situation
The poppin’ graphic designer addressed the missed opportunity with A$AP Rocky via video on Wednesday (August 5). He explained that the rapper reached out with a new business inquiry, and as a fan, he got too excited. Allan Peters said he thought Rocky would take the post “as a compliment.” He explained that his fans have shown excitement about engaging with him on social media and posted their interactions. So, in this case, Peters thought it was a “friendly thing to do.”
“He didn’t take it as such and asked me to take down the post. I took it down, and I apologized to him, and that’s all there is to it,” Allan Peters added.
It’s unclear whether A$AP Rocky and Allan had any additional conversation following the post takedown and apology. Aside from his initial comment blasting the graphic designer, the rapper has not addressed him again in public or explained why he killed the business opportunity.
What Happened Between Rocky & Allan?
As previously reported, Allan Peters went viral after he shared a private message from A$AP Rocky on his Instagram account. The message was a price estimate inquiry from Rocky for “brand logo revisions.” The rapper mentioned he’d be “honored” to work with Peters, adding that he loves his work. Allan replied, but in a screenshot he posted to his IG feed, he only included the rapper’s message. His caption said, “I have no words” and featured a head explosion emoticon. Sometime after posting, A$AP Rocky slid into the comment section, seemingly heated at the inquiry exposure.
He wrote, “THIS IS JUST DISTASTEFUL, WELL I GUESS WON’T BE WORKING, BEST OF LUCK BUDDY.”
The interaction quickly went viral, prompting conversations about talking yourself out of opportunities.
Social Media Reacts To Graphic Designer’s Update
The situation with Rocky isn’t the only thing Allan Peters addressed in his new video. However, it was what majority of the 2,500+ comments he received mentioned. Some people encouraged the graphic designer to learn from the experience and push through, while others seemed to criticize Allan’s word choice in the explainer video. Plenty of comments came from other designers as well. Again, Rocky seemingly has not responded to Allan breaking his silence.
@nowthatsmajor commented, “Keep building & inspiring, Allan. We live… we learn. We CONQUER! 🙏🏾💪🏾”
“There’s an element of ego at play here that doesn’t let up. It’s the same ego that says ‘let’s fix the ‘x’ logo’ instead of ‘here’s my take on the ‘x’ logo’. It says ‘I’m sorry he took it wrong’ rather than ‘sorry for publicly sharing private business.’ This isn’t an apology,” @jamiemacplays said.
@cmadydesigns advised, “The way you treat your clients should always come BEFORE clout chasing & celebration. Discretion is a thing for a reason, and if you breach that trust, I completely understand why someone wouldn’t want to work with you.”
Meanwhile, @ladydu_sa said, “Why are you apologising for genuinly being excited for a once in a lifetime opportunity, this was a normal human reaction, I think he actually should have went ahead with it because this shows how much you actually love him. He should have put a disclaimer. Never to post anything coming from him. I feel like you are now apologising for something that any normal human being would have done. If Beyonce dmed me I’d lose my shit probably post too.”
“I think he overreacted a lil bit. If he wanted discretion he could’ve told you that fr. Just miscommunication,” @djradap weighed in.
@pricedesignclub added, “It happens and it was, I’m sure, a painful lesson. Just remember your work and your consistency allowed you to even be in the room to have the conversation. We’ve all had those aha moments and I know this will be a motivator for your to keep building even better and stronger. Appreciate the transparency.”
“Fact of the matter is that he’s missing out on YOUR gift…The gift that God gave you that you’re using to the best of your ability. God has better for you! Have faith in that 🙏🏽🫶🏽,” @johnhilltheartist commented.
@le_ken_h said, “Don’t get discouraged, you’re very talented. You’ll probably be contacted by other stars soon! At least you learned a lesson from this. It’s always better to stay discreet when working with celebrities, because anything related to them can go viral and become impossible to control.”
Also, @tasteslikebranding wrote, “It wasn’t as bad as people perceive it to be, Allan. It’s one person out of almost eight billion people on the planet, and in my humble opinion, you’re probably better off 🙏🏽.”
