After being sworn in as the 47th president on Monday, Donald Trump wasted no time getting to business! Within hours, he issued a rack of executive orders and rescinded 78 orders and actions signed by former President Joe Biden. Then, early Tuesday, he used Truth Social to announce he’d be firing over 1,000 presidential appointees from the Biden administration who don’t align with his “Make America Great Again” vision. He named four people, including former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who served on the President’s Export Council.

Trump Uses Truth Social To Issue Firings
Mid-way through, Trump declared his Truth Social post the “Official Notice of Dismissal.” The 47th president also fired chef and humanitarian Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, retired Gen. Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, and former State Department official Brian Hook from the board of the Wilson Center.
“YOU’RE FIRED,” Trump said in his post — his catchphrase from his reality TV show, ‘The Apprentice.’
For clarity, Biden also removed many Trump appointees in his first days in office. His list included former press secretary Sean Spicer, who was on the board overseeing the U.S. Naval Academy.
Keisha Lance Bottoms Claps Back At Donald
On Tuesday (January 21), Keisha Lance Bottoms shut down Donald Trump’s announcement with a lil’ shade on Instagram. She shared his post and her resignation letter from the President’s Export Council. She dated the letter Janaury 4, 2025, and stated that it was in anticipation of the administration transition.
“A day late and a dollar short….My resignation from the President’s Export Council was submitted on January 4, effective yesterday,” Keisha wrote in her IG caption. “You can’t fire someone who has already resigned. Of all of the things happening in the world, not sure why I am on Donald Trump’s mind at 1:30 am following his Inauguration, but I count it as a badge of honor.”
Keeping her tone, she shared her hopes for Trump to keep the same energy for “world affairs. Additionally, she mentioned the “real issues that need attention across the globe.”
“No matter how you voted, I think we can all agree that targeting me, along with a man who is feeding displaced people in Los Angeles and a decorated military General in the early morning hours via social media is not the best use of time for the President of the United States,” Keisha Lance Bottoms added.
