Porsha Williams hasn’t spilled the details about what made her file for divorce from Simon Guobadia. However, they both took to social media this past weekend to offer a few words amid the petition news.
Porsha & Simon React To Pending Divorce
On Sunday (Feb. 25), Porsha wrote, “Thank you for your prayers & support,” adding a broken heart and praying hands emojis. She signed the Instagram feed note with “PW.” In less than 24 hours, her post collected over 8,700 comments and more than 134,000 likes.
Meanwhile, Simon claimed his love for Porsha would continue flowing until the ink dries on the divorce papers. Also, on Sunday, Simon shared his thoughts on his Instagram Story.
“Will Stop Loving My Wife When Divorce is Final,” he said.

Porsha and Simon Guobadia’s reactions come after Williams took their martial issues to court and filed for divorce on Feb. 22. According to PEOPLE, Porsha filed in Georgia.

But the specifics of what led to their split remain unknown to the public. A source told the outlet that an “ongoing matter” is the reason. As previously reported, Williams and Simon announced their engagement in 2021 and tied the knot in November 2022 in a double wedding ceremony. Their marriage lasted about 15 months before Williams filed for an out.
Divorce Petition Comes Amid Simon’s Citizenship Issues
About a week ago, The Shade Room obtained court documents showing a delay in Guobadia obtaining his U.S. citizenship.
He had reportedly filed to vacate an earlier decision by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) denying him citizenship.
However, his petition to vacate was denied multiple times because he had “unlawfully” obtained temporary residence under a second identity. He began using a second identity after he was deported for several crimes, including bank and credit card fraud, in the late ’80s and early ’90s.
According to PEOPLE’s source, their pending divorce has nothing to do with the citizenship denial.
We should note that the documents surfaced shortly after Porsha announced her return to ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ for the upcoming 16th season.
