As folks tried to figure out who is Sheryl Lee Ralph’s son, videos of him and his mother began to surface online. As a teenager, Maurice appeared on the hit MTV show My Super Sweet 16.

In November, Maurice shared a clip of a  scene where Sheryl critiqued the teen on his photo shoot skills. The now-filmmaker and actor posted the throwback moment on TikTok for more than 47,000 followers.

“It’s my 31st birthday today, so I think it’s only right that I share this hilarious scene from my episode of “My Super Sweet 16.” My mother has not changed,” he wrote on November 16, 2022. “Apparently you can watch my scrawny, awkward, corny 16-year-old self on HULU today, so enjoy!”

This week Sheryl Lee Ralph may be trending for her ‘fine’ son, but last week there was a much more severe conversation afloat online.

During an appearance on Way Up With Angela Yee, Ralph said a famous TV judge sexually assaulted her at a TV network event in Louisiana earlier in her career. Ralph didn’t name-drop the judge or give any hints about the person’s race or network affiliations.

However, she said this TV judge approached her at the event, put their hand on her neck, and shoved his tongue into her mouth. Despite a network executive allegedly witnessing the incident, Lee says she was discouraged from reporting the assault to police to avoid “bad press.”

Days after the interview gained widespread media coverage, Judge Joe Brown twice denied he was involved via Twitter. In the replies to his denial, he later suggested that Sheryl’s story is a ploy by her Pennslyvania senator husband and the Democratic National Committee to sabotage his current run for Memphis mayor.

Sheryl and her husband, Vincent Hughes, have not responded to Judge Joe Brown’s claims.
