“Love & Hip Hop” Franchise Suspends Production Indefinitely Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

#Roommates, you can now add the popular “Love & Hip Hop” franchise to the list of things being impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. It has just been announced that production on all shows within the “Love & Hip Hop” landscape have been suspended indefinitely.

The start of 2020 saw a record three “Love & Hip Hop” shows airing all at once, with New York, Miami and Atlanta shows all entertaining viewers as part of VH1’s Monday night block of programming. Unfortunately, that run has abruptly come to an end.

In a statement posted to Instagram, the production company behind the popular franchise updated fans on what’s next, after many had questions regarding the extremely short season of “LHHATL” the only starting airing weeks ago.

The statement read:

“Due to the 2019-20 coronavirus pandemic, all production on the “Love & Hip Hop” franchise series has been forcibly shut down.

This means that “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” season 7, the remaining episodes of “Love & Hip Hop: New York” season 10 and “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” season 9 will all be postponed until further notice. This also applies to “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” season 4. It’s still uncertain when and how production will resume.”

This news follows similar precautions taken by other TV and movie productions that have unfortunately had to shut down completely to stop the spread of the coronavirus here in the U.S. This also presents a tough challenge for VH1, as the network is largely dominated by the reality franchise as part of its regular programming.
