#Roommates, you may recall back in July of 2020 when Mark and Patricia McCloskey made national headlines after they drew guns on protestors who were outside of their home during the height of the #BlackLivesMatter protests. Well, now Mark McCloskey has decided to embark on a new career path and it happens to be in politics, as he recently announced his run for U.S. Senate in the state of Missouri.
The image of Mark McCloskey armed with an assault rifle outside his St. Louis home alongside his wife Patricia (who was also armed) is burned into the memory of many Americans after they sparked national outrage for their actions during last summer’s police brutality protests. However, according to @CNN, McCloskey has just launched his campaign for a Republican U.S. Senate seat in Missouri. “I’ve always been a Republican, but I have never been a politician, but you know, God came knocking on my door last summer disguised as an angry mob, and it really did wake me up.”
McCloskey is seeking to occupy the Senate seat currently held by fellow Republican Roy Blunt, who revealed earlier this year he will not seek reelection. To gear up for the costly measure of running for political office, McCloskey’s official website is currently asking for donations.
As we previously reported, Mark and Patricia McCloskey both pled not guilty to weapons and evidence tampering charges back in October of last year. Just months before, they spoke at the Republican National Convention to support Donald Trump’s failed bid for reelection in the 2020 presidential campaign.
