Masika Kalysha Shares Brief Update On Her Daughters Alongside Tragic Message About Burying One’s Spouse
During the early hours of Friday, October 31, Kalysha took to her Instagram Story to share a lengthy message with her followers. Furthermore, she explained that she’s “never felt pain like this” and “wouldn’t wish this on anybody.” Additionally, she shared a brief update on her daughters, Khari and Amari, noting that they are “devastated and confused.”
As she went on, she shared two things that she knows her husband “would want.” Specifically, she explained that when one has to bury their spouse, “NONE of the arguments matter. None. Not one.”
“The things you were fighting over suddenly mean nothing when the person you love is gone and you actually have to experience life without them. All that’s left is love — and the time you wish you could get back,” she wrote.
From there, she went on to note that the “ONLY guarantee in life is death.” With that said, she encouraged viewers to ask themselves if they are living righteously.

While Instagram user @officialkourtnib added, “The ones telling her how to grieve have never lost someone that close. It’s hard being trapped in your own thoughts and wanting to express them. And most of the time when death hits the people you thought loved you are the first to disappear.”
More Details On The Tragic Passing Of Jamar Champ
As The Shade Room previously reported, during the early hours of Tuesday, October 28, Masika Kalysha’s estranged husband, Jamar Champ, was the victim of a wrong-way driver who entered the Katy Freeway in Houston and crashed into his Cybertruck. Subsequently, the wrong-way driver’s car caught fire, and the Cybertruck spun into a semi — killing Champ at the scene. Hours afterward, Kalysha took to X, formerly known as Twitter, sharing that she had received the “worst news” of her life.
That afternoon, Kalysha pleaded with the media to refrain from sharing the details of her husband’s accident. She explained that her children were at school, and she wanted to be the one to inform them before anyone else.
Additionally, she shared an exclusive statement with TSR, noting her family’s “devastating loss.”
On Thursday, October 30, Kalysha penned a lengthy message to Champ via Instagram.
Then, she followed up, noting her frustration at the driver who claimed his life, per The Shade Room.
For those unfamiliar, Masika Kalysha and Jamar Champ reportedly wed in 2021. They welcomed a daughter named Amari while Champ embraced Kalysha’s older daughter, Khari, whom she shares with Fetty Wap.
In 2023, Kalysha took to a livestream to speak on her and Champ’s separation. Then, in 2024, she spoke about her and Champ taking to mediation amid their apparent divorce.
