TSR Updatez: NBA YoungBoy received some good news ahead of Christmas. Most of the serious charges in his assault and kidnapping case involving his ex-girlfriend Jania have been dropped after he took a pretty good plea deal.
YoungBoy pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple battery family violence, according to TMZ. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault, according to the Ware County District Attorney’s Office in Georgia.
YoungBoy will also avoid jail time in this case. He’s been sentenced to 12 months probation and was fined $1,500. He is also required to attend anger management classes and have no violent contact with the victim, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of one of his children, Jania.
Now the result of this case has a lot to do with Jania refusing to testify against YoungBoy.
This incident happened back in February of 2018 when YoungBoy was accused of body slamming his then girlfriend before dragging her back inside his room. Surveillance footage captured the violent moment but his then girlfriend insisted that they were just playing around.
The grand jury handed down a two-count indictment in the case for aggravated assault and kidnapping.
At that time, Jania did not want to press any charges. The Ware County district attorney claims Jania refused to come to court and told the D.A.’s office that she would not testify if she was brought into court against her will.
“We resolved the case as best we could without her cooperation,” said District Attorney George Barhill.
It seems like the pair won’t have a problem staying apart as they have not dated in some time. Most recently, NBA YoungBoy took some shots at Jania, alleging that she gave him herpes in an unreleased song. You can read about that here.
