Roommates, lets take a moment to keep the residents of New Orleans in our thoughts. The Hard Rock Cafe located at the corner of Canal and North Rampart streets has collapsed.Â
The building, which was under construction collapsed early Saturday and as of now, only one person has been pronounced deceased. Currently there are three people who are unaccounted for, and 18 people who were rushed to the hospital according to Nola News.
In a news conference near the scene, New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnell said that the upper six to eight floors of the building collapsed, adding that it is still very unstable. Buildings surrounding the area have been evacuated as well.
There were reportedly 45 people working inside the building. As some workers are still being accounted for, there are no reports of anyone on the streets being injured.
