As she continues to enjoy the early days of wedded bliss following her recent marriage to Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj also apparently had time to call out what she feels is a lack of respect.
In a recent post on social media, Nicki Minaj didn’t hold back when she posted a video of a recent Q&A with rising hip hop artists who were asked about their influences. When one rapper in question named former Flipmode Squad rapper Rah Digga as her biggest inspiration, it caused Nicki to get some things off her chest.
During the Q&A a woman asked rapper Rap-Unzel this:
“My question is for the ladies specifically. Who do you look up to in the industry? Unfortunately, you don’t have many examples you can look up to. I wouldn’t say Nicki would be your example. Or you tell me if she’s your example, cause I got a question after that.”
Underneath the video of the encounter, Nicki posted the following comment:
“Look @ the hate & bitterness on this BLACK woman’s face when someone says they’re influence is the most dominating female rapper of the last decade chile. ALL OF YOU GIRLS DO THIS. SO SAD. Even male artists gotta pretend in interviews now chile. LMFAO. If you’re this weak-minded you won’t last in this game anyway. This is what’s going on behind the scenes @ award shows, radio shows, etc. They gotta say they was influenced by ppl who was rappin b4 they was born chile. Anything but those 10 little letters on a big sign. N I C K I M I N A J.”
The last few years has seen Nicki repeatedly calling out those who she claims haven’t paid her the proper homage or respect throughout her career.
