Y’all, social media is buzzing after Nicki Minaj and Dez Bryant went from throwing shade to making peace. The two had a messy fallout last week, dragging each other over Roc Nation, with Nicki even offering Dez $10M to fight her husband, Kenneth Petty amid their heated back-and-forth! But in a surprise move over the weekend, Dez apologized. Nicki has since reacted, saying shes all about peace while throwing in a lil shade with her response. Heres what happened
On Saturday, August 9, Dez hopped on X with a whole apology for the rapper. In a heartfelt post, he wrote:
On some G sh**..@NICKIMINAJ, I really dont like the misunderstanding we had between each other .. I apologize for bringing up your husbands past..its a shame only negative things make headlines between two black people who have much influence on our community.
Dez went even further, saying hes just out here trying to be a better man for his kids and the youth thats watching him. I pray for only peace and positivity your way, he added.
Nicki wasnt about to let Dez Bryants apology just sit there, though. The Hard White artist hopped on X (formerly Twitter) quick to show love right back. The Lord will grant you peace, Dez, she tweeted.
Nothing makes me respect someone more, than a public display of accountability. I accept your apology I apologize as well if I offended you.
But yall know the Queen cant resist a lil shade. She playfully added, If you still wanna do that fight, lmk,” referring to Bryant initially wanting to fight her husband. “He def got them hands. seriously tho, all the best,” Nicki concluded.
It all started when Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spilled some tea about Dezs 2015 contract talks with Jay-Zs Roc Nation, claiming Hov allegedly ghosted him. Dez wasnt having it and clapped back on X: JERRY JONES I DON’T THINK ITS SMART TO MENTION MY NAME WE CAN HAVE STORY TIME.
Nicki, whos been vocal about her own issues with Roc Nation over alleged unpaid Tidal funds, jumped in. Every time you do a Jerry Jones or NFL story time, Ill do a story time of my own [about Roc Nation],” she tweeted.
Things got even uglier when Nicki brought up Dezs 2012 domestic violence arrest, saying, Go beat your mom. This prompted Dez to fire back, calling Nickis husband a s*x offender and accepting her $10M fight challenge. He tweeted, Go get that 10 million in cash.. Ill stomp that n***a out. […] It’s ROC for life b****.” But with apologies exchanged, it looks like Nicki and Dez are ready to move on.
