As the Democratic Party scrambles to regroup for 2028, Stephen A. Smith is out here still flirting with the idea of a presidential run and hes not sugarcoating a thing. During his recent appearance on ‘Real Time with Bill Maher,’ the NBA analyst and ‘First Take’ host made it clear hes not fully sold on jumping into the race, but hes not closing the door either.
Listen, life is good, man. I mean, I leave the door open, Stephen told Maher. I cant imagine myself doing it, but I havent ruled it out, because Im disgusted with what Im seeing on the left.

In a recent episode of ‘The Stephen A. Smith Show,’ he lit up the Democratic Party, calling them out for what he sees as a string of failures especially after their losses last November. He didnt hold back, yall. With Democrats now out of power and Trump deep in his second term, Smith says he feels like he has no choice but to consider stepping into the political ring. And, apparently, hes not the only one thinking it Stephen says the demand from the public is that loud.
“Here’s the reality: People, literally people, have walked up to me, including my own pastor, for crying out loud, who has said to me, ‘You don’t know what God has planned for you. At least show the respect to the people who believe in you, who respect you, who believe that you can make a difference in this country, to leave the door open for any possibilities some to three years down the line.’ And that’s what I’ve decided to do.”
