Nicki Minaj’s mother Carol Maraj isn’t being coy about what she wants for her daughter’s future.
Mama Minaj stepped out recently to celebrate her new single “What Makes You,” (Yes, in case y’all forgot, Carol Maraj is on the music scene now) and she spoke with reporter Marc Gardner about her new song but also spilled a little tea on her super star daughter.
This was actually the first time Carol has publicly spoken about her daughter’s recent nuptials. She congratulated her daughter and son-in-law Kenneth Petty on tying the knot and hinted that she’s ready for some grandchildren.
“I’m very happy that she got married,” Carol said when asked if she wanted to give any well wishes to her and Kenneth. “Her biological clock is ticking and it’s about time she got married and gave me some grandchildren. So I’m very happy.”
As we previously reported, Nicki confirmed that she tied the knot in an Instagram post. She dropped a video of a pair of wedding mugs with “Mr.” and “Mrs.” written on them as well as some baseball caps that read “Bride” and “Groom.”
Nicki and Kenneth got their official marriage license in Beverly Hills back in July—and have been on the fast track to saying “1 do” since then. The rumors of her marriage reached a fever pitch when she referred to Kenneth as her husband in March, changed her Twitter name to Mrs. Petty in August and followed things up with discussing her feelings on “unconditional love” in an emotional post on social media last month.
