Last year Niecy Nash took many people by surprise when she revealed that she had tied the knot again, as she introduced everyone to her wife Jessica Betts. Prior to their marriage, Niecy had been married twice to two different men, so many people looked at her new marriage as her way of coming out in terms of her sexuality.
Recently, she and her wife joined Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Andrienne Banfield-Norris at the red table on their hit show “Red Table Talk.” While at the table, Niecy mentioned that she had never been attracted to other women prior to her relationship with Jessica. She continued to say that she was never hiding her sexuality and that in her past she was in love with the men she was with while she was in those relationships.
The couple also shared the story on how they got together and they also addressed some of the theories people had after it was revealed they tied the knot. Many people thought they secretly became an item when Jessica was featured on the TNT show “Clawz,” which Niecy is the star of. However, they said that was not true.
They also denied the claims that Jessica was the wedding singer at Niecy’s wedding to Jay Tucker, which was her second marriage. They also denied the claims that their relationship secretly began while she was still married to Jay.
Niecy said, “I never cheated on my last husband, I never did that.”
They continued to explain that they had a genuine friendship for about four years before they became more.
Jessica revealed prior to her relationship with Niecy she had been in a long-term relationship, and once that ended she didn’t think she would find love again.
