President Obama Is Bringing A One Day Music Festival To The White House

None of us are ready for President Obama to leave the White House but if he must go, he plans to be going out with a bang– with a music festival to be specific!

Say what?!

Yeah so apparently Obama is bringing South By South Lawn, a one-day music festival, to the White House before he makes his departure.

If you recall, Obama got the chance to attend and speak at this years South by South West and he enjoyed the experience so much that he is working on being the driving force behind his very own.

If you’re unfamiliar with the format of SXSW, it’s a plethora of performances, panels discussions and short films. Because Obama has officially partnered with SXSW to make this thing happen, South By South Lawn will in its own way, mirror SXSW’s chain of events.

According to WhiteHouse.Gov, “South by South Lawn, an event inspired by South by Southwest, will bring together creators, innovators, and organizers who work day in and day out to improve the lives of their fellow Americans and people around the world,”

The festivities are set to take place October 3rd but artists are unconfirmed as of now however if Obama’s taste is anything like Malia’s, we might see Bryson Tiller or maybe even Chance The Rapper! But we’ll know for sure once the prez releases that list!

In the meantime we’re just trying to figure out how we can get our dads to bring a music festival to our lawns. I can’t even get him to turn on the right radio station–let alone hand pick the perfect line up!
